To Whom It May Concern:

I am the head softball coach for Bear River High School. It has been my privilege the last three years to coach Kim Knudsen on our team. Her sophomore year she played left field for us and this year she played catcher , although that is probably not her strongest position. She played there because that is where we needed her because of her athletic abilities. Both years she had great years, but offensively is where she really shined. This year she broke the state record for the most triples in a season with eight and tied the state record for the most consecutive games with a hit which was twenty-two. It should also be noted that we won state championship both of those years. We had an excellent hitting team, but the one player who was the biggest concern for opposing teams, according to one coach, was Kim. One other thing that is noteworthy is the fact that of the forty hits that she had this year, twenty-one were extra base hits. In the ten years that I have coached, including four that we were state champions with twelve or so players that have went on to play college ball, this is the best hitting performance that I have seen.
